‘Suicide Squad’ Trailer: Official Trailer Reveals The Joker Hurting Harley Quinn?

The Suicide Squad’s official high-def trailer has finally been released. It was previously reported that fans would have to wait until fall to watch the trailer online. Just days after the official Suicide Squad trailer leaked online, Warner Bros. decided to release it to the internet.

After some of the nearly 10,000 people who attended San Diego’s Comic-Con uploaded a low-def version of the Suicide Squad trailer onto YouTube and other video sites, Warner Bros. decided to release an official online version. Despite the movie’s early release, the reception to its trailer has been well received. Fans were obviously excited about the Suicide Squad trailer and wanted to share it with everyone they know.

Suicide Squad director David Ayer decided to release the full official trailer, tweeting, “Shame our sneak peak Hall H footage was leaked. #notcool. It’s unfair to the fans who waited in line. And not how I intended folks to see it.”

The Suicide Squad trailer shows a whole lot of Jared Leto’s “brutal Joker and Margot Robbie’s punk-styled Harley Quinn. Fans also get a glimpse at Amanda Waller (Viola Davis), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Deadshot (Will Smith), Enchantress (Cara Delevingne), and Killer Crock (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje). There are also quick shots of Batman portrayed by Ben Affleck. In one scene, the cape crusader jumps on top of the Joker’s vehicle.

Let’s talk about the Joker and Harley Quinn. The Suicide Squad trailer saves the best for last by featuring Leto’s trademark Joker laugh. The trailer also gives us a glimpse at the Joker’s scary face, as he promises that he won’t kill the person that he’s torturing, he will just give her (or him?) lots of pain. Some fans pointed out that the Joker may be hurting Harley Quinn in the official Suicide Squad trailer. They’re also not happy to see the Joker hurting a woman, especially one who’s known as his ex-girlfriend in the comics.

The Joker says to his victim, “I’m not going to kill you. I’m just gonna hurt you really, really bad.”

Jared Leto and Margot Robbie are obviously the scene stealers of the Suicide Squad. This is also the first time that fans get to see the Joker and Harley Quinn play out in the film. It’ll be interesting to see how fans react to their, especially since the internet wasn’t crazy about Leto being cast as Joker. Robbie’s portrayal Harley Quinn wasn’t well received at first either, but she’s quickly become a fan favorite. Although Leto is heavily shown in the trailer, it’s been rumored that he will have a small part in the film’s release.

Suicide Squad is scheduled for release in theaters across the nation on August 5, 2016. What are your thoughts on the official trailer? Are you excited to see the movie? Share your thoughts below in the comments section.
