Kerosene Soaked Man Dies after Police give him Cigarette, Lighter
A Japanese man soaked in kerosene has died after police handed him a cigarette and a lighter.
Hifumi Kubota had been arrested by Japanese police for “acting violently,” and had poured Kerosene over himself in front of police before being apprehended.
Kubota refused to change his soaked clothes at the police station, and according to news.com.au, asked to smoke during questioning. This is where it gets even weirder: despite no-smoking rules in the building a police officer gave him some smokes and a lighter.
The rest goes without saying. He did live long enough to make it to hospital, where he then died from his horrific burns.
