The Blizzard Store Is Offering ‘Diablo 3’ On PC For Half Off This Week

With patch 2.3 actively being tested and Season 3 likely to end sometime next month, Diablo 3 players are fighting and looting their way to power with fervor. The isometric action RPG has improved greatly since its release in May 2012, and most notably, the game’s first expansion changed the game for the better with its release in 2014. PC players yet to experience the world of Sanctuary filled with demons, nephalem, and several more otherworldly creatures can now pick up both the base game and the Reaper of Souls expansion for a meager price.

Players following the official Twitter account for the Diablo franchise were notified about the sale, which ends on July 19. Diablo 3 and its expansion, Reaper of Souls, are both half off over the next few days. This sale only applies to the PC version of Diablo 3 and Reaper of Souls since it was recently on sale for Xbox One during its Ultimate Game Sale and Playstation 4 during its Best of E3 sale.

Diablo 3 and the expansion are just $20 each during the sale. Again, the sale only applies to PC copies of Diablo 3 purchased through Blizzard Entertainment’s online store. The PC version of Diablo 3 includes a few features that console players miss due to the game’s offline availability on console. The main PC attraction of the game is that PC players can participate in seasonal play. Seasons let players start from scratch to earn new achievements, find new gear, and progress from a completely clean slate. PC players also get to test new features on the test server, which is open right now with upcoming 2.3 gear, additions, and fixes.

In fact, patch 2.3 will add a new area called Ruins of Sescheron, the new Kanai’s Cube that lets players consume legendary items to gain their special property as a passive, and four new torment levels. On PC, the new patch will usher in Season 4 which will likely occur a few weeks after the release of patch 2.3. Currently, there is no release date for patch 2.3 on PC or console, although they are likely to release simultaneously.

Console players eager to pick up Diablo 3 for a reduced cost should also check Amazon’s current list price of the game. It fluctuates often and is currently only $30 for the base game and its expansion on the Playstation 4. Not to mention, many titles are likely to be on sale later this week during the Amazon’s Prime Day sale on July 15.
