Tom Cavanagh Interview: Will Harrison Wells Or Reverse-Flash Return In The Flash Season 2?

Tom Cavanagh, known to The Flash fans as the villain Reverse-Flash, will be returning to the Flash for its second season. For those who might be hurt by the Flash Season 1 spoilers, please leave the room now.

It has been reported that Zoom, aka the second Reverse-Flash, will be the Flash Season 2 “big bad.” This certainly raises the question as to whom will play the new Reverse-Flash, though Eobard Thawne / Harrison Wells is dead and gone, the rupture of time and space has opened up endless possibilities for characters. Comicbook reports that Tom Cavanagh recently sat down to discuss his Season 2 role.

“For me, the most enjoyable part of doing this show is putting on the Reverse Flash suit. I always look forward to putting on the suit. I like the action and the activity, and often times we put in a lot of time with Harrison Wells in the chair last year, to earn the payoff with the Reverse Flash activity. I often enjoy when the show gets robust and athletic. Those are some of my favorite moments.”

Cavanagh’s response came after the question was asked what he was most excited about for the Flash Season 2. Though Tom Cavanagh is often cryptic, as the Inquisitr has reported on Cavanagh’s last interview about Reverse-Flash, his response to such a question is very curious and interesting. He was a little more cryptic about the potential return of Harrison Wells, who was the Flash’s mentor and the Reverse-Flash’s hidden identity in Season 1.

“It ended up being a big part of our season finale. I think we employed that device of using Harrison Wells to do that last year. And I think this year we’ll try a different tactic, but in some ways they’re not too dissimilar from one another.”

So, it seems Harrison Wells and Reverse-Flash will most likely be in Season 2, and Tom Cavanagh might play both. Unfortunately, Cavanagh’s parting response after being pressed about more Harrison Wells information was not too much help.

“You’ll get that answer very soon. Why spoil it?”

His responses certainly seem to indicate that Harrison Wells/Reverse-Flash will have a part in the Flash Season 2, but will it be as significant or similar roles that Cavanagh played in Season 1. The Inquisitr predicted the return of the Man in Yellow would most likely return, after DC Comics brought Eobard Thawne back in May.

So much is up in the air, but perhaps Cavanagh is correct, Why spoil it?
