Tamra Judge Discusses Death Of Vicki Gunvalson’s Mom

Tamra Judge and Vicki Gunvalson may not have the most consistent friendship, but at the end of the day, they’ve been through a lot together. So, it’s no wonder The Real Housewives of Orange County star got choked up while discussing Gunvalon’s mother’s death in a recent interview.

On July 13, Tamra Judge sat down with Entertainment Weekly, opening up about the hardships her friend faced during Season 10.

“Vicki had a hard time this year. In the eight years that I’ve been on the show, [I’ve] never experienced anything like that. There was a time when I thought, ‘OK, cameras need to go down now.’ Like, this is too personal. This is too horrible. This is painful.”

Tamra Judge was just one of many who felt the moment shouldn’t have aired on The Real Housewives of Orange County. As the show aired earlier this months, fans flooded Gunvalson, as well as creator Andy Cohen, with backlash for sharing her heartbreak on the series.

Tamra Judge went on to tell Entertainment Weekly, “I become a grandmother the same day that Vicki buries her mom, and it’s hard because I’m so excited about being a grandma, and on the flip side, my friend is burying her mom. So, that was a little hard.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Vicki Gunvalson defended herself against critics, who felt she should have kept her emotional moment to herself, during an interview with Cohen. Speaking to Cohen, Gunvalson explained her decision to allow fans to experience the difficult moment alongside her.

“I signed up for all areas of my life to exposed—the good and the bad. There’s been a lot of great moments that have been aired and there’s a lot of moments that I wish I wasn’t on a reality show. This is not a moment that I feel, as of right now, that I regret because statistically people are going to lose their parents, right? We’re going to be alive when our parents die, statistically … I don’t blame Bravo, I don’t blame [production company behind RHOC] Evolution, I don’t blame anybody—it’s my life.”
