Chelsea Handler “On-Again” With Andre Balazs, Doesn’t See Herself Getting Married

The 37-year-old Handler got back together with 55-year-old Balazs in February after splitting late last year.

“My boyfriend, Andre… we just got back together literally yesterday,” said Handler. “We had dated for nine months, a long-distance relationship with all the stresses and traveling and running around. It wasn’t a real life; we weren’t living together,” continuing, “So, André came to me yesterday and said, ‘I think we have to try to make this work again,’ And I agreed because we’re still madly in love.”

The couple is about as long-distance as you can get stateside, with Balazs in New York and Handler working on her show in Los Angeles. Handler admits the challenges of the relationship, but the couple seem to genuinely want to make it work.

“Sometimes you don’t want to fly five hours to go see somebody, but sometimes that person needs you there,” she said. “It’s that kind of selflessness and thoughtfulness.”

“It’s just a matter of … understanding each other better – getting to know what the other person’s needs are and not basing all your behavior on your own desire,” she added.

Though matters of heart concerning Balazs have changed, there is still one person who serves as the target for Handler’s ire. In the same interview, Handler was asked who the opposite of a girl’s girl would be. “Probably Angelina Jolie,” Handler replied. “She doesn’t strike me as someone I would have a close friendship with. You just know as a woman, when you see another woman, if that’s a woman you can trust.”
