Justin Bieber Gets Emo On ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’ For Lip Sync Battle

Justin Bieber’s highly-anticipated appearance on Spike TV’s Lip Sync Battle touches down this week.

In a just-released promo clip for the first round of the contest, Justin Bieber showcases his EMO side on Fergie’s 2006 torch song, “Big Girls Don’t Cry.”

The Biebs is seen getting all sensitive as he emotes while lip syncing his way through the hit, capping his emotive routine with a sweetly comical, cheek caress of his adversary, ex-NFL legend Deion Sanders.

However, anyone eager to see Justin’s wilder side should stick around for the second part of the episode, when the “Where Are Ü Now” singer channels veteran British rocker Ozzy Osbourne to knock out his 1980 hit “Crazy Train.”

Justin didn’t hold back on the props. In a preview that aired in April, he was decked out in a black wig, leather trench coat and heavy, black eyeliner. The result? He actually did look a lot like the 66-year-old legend in the get-up.

Notably, Ozzy’s wife, Sharon Osbourne, and daughter, Kelly, gave Justin’s “Ozzy” cameo their seal of approval during an episode of The Talk.

Inspired by Jimmy Fallon’s regular contest on The Tonight Show, the premise of Lip Sync Battle is exactly the same. Guest celebrities are pitted against each other singing songs of their choice.

The show is hosted by the rapper LL Cool J, alongside Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Chrissy Teigen, in the role of a “color commentator.”

Back in February, Spike TV filmed 10 episodes of Lip Sync Battle in New York City, then another eight in Los Angeles in March. In addition to Bieber, other guests include Teigen’s husband (John Legend), Malin Akerman, Common, Dwayne Johnson, Jennifer Lopez, Will Arnett, Anne Hathaway, Anna Kendrick, Emily Blunt, Taraji P. Henson, Terrence Howard, Mike Tyson, Meghan Trainor, Queen Latifah, Julianne Hough, and many more.

The show is produced by John Krasinski, Stephen Merchant, Jay Peterson, Rick Schwartz and Casey Patterson. Saturday Night Live’s Beth McCarthy-Miller directs.

If you want to see Bieber face-off with Sanders, the episode airs on Thursday, July 16 at 10 p.m. ET on Spike TV. Go on, you know you want to!
