Chris Pratt Became $2.7 Billion Box-Office Star With 2 Years, 3 Movies

Actor Chris Pratt essentially went from a big-screen nobody to a multi-billion dollar box-office star in just a few years.

His skyrocketed journey to Hollywood stardom in the global box-office was primarily thanks to the massive success of three blockbuster movies – The Lego Movie, Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World.

Here are the worldwide box-office totals (as of right now) for each of those three films, according to Box Office Mojo:

Several years ago, the concept of Chris Pratt becoming a box-office star on the big-screen might have seemed like a pipe dream of fans of the hit NBC series, Parks and Recreation. Along with his supporting yet mostly forgettable roles on the big-screen, Chris really did not receive an attention-grabbing lead role until he starred as Peter Quill/Star Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy. However, that role (in particular) did seem to be the one that shifted Chris Pratt from unforgettably supporting to hard-to-forget leading star.

In addition, the box-office success of each of those three key films has apparently cemented that Chris Pratt is a potential blockbuster franchise star as well.

Keep in mind that follow-up sequels have been confirmed for almost all three of them – Lego Movie 2 (2018), Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 (2017) and Jurassic World 2 (TBD).

Outside of reprising his leading roles in follow-up sequels, Chris Pratt is also starting to fill up his acting schedule with other roles in highly-anticipated films featuring ensemble casts.

For example, Chris will star in the Antoine Fuqua-directed film, The Magnificent Seven, alongside Denzel Washington, Ethan Hawke, and Vincent D’Onofrio.

Only time will tell just how much more money is added to the growing box-office total for Chris Pratt. One thing is clear – He’s come a long way from shining shoes as Andy Dwyer.
