‘Suicide Squad’ Trailer Gone But Not Forgotten After Comic-Con

Even though they teased Comic-Con attendees with a new Suicide Squad trailer, they didn’t officially release it to the public. After leaking online, it was quickly taken down. Maybe it’s because DC doesn’t want the Suicide Squad trailer to compete with the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer that was also just released. Maybe fans need some time to absorb that one first before DC revs up its promotion for the new Suicide Squad movie.

Whatever DC is thinking about doing, at least we can give you an idea of what the trailer contained. According to ComicBook.com, the unreleased trailer centers on Viola Davis as Amanda Waller gets the Squad together. Then different shots flash on the screen of the different Suicide Squad members in action.

ComicBook.com gave a play-by-play description of the trailer.

“Dinner table. ‘I have the worst of the worst,’ a man tells Amanda Waller. The DC Comics logo ticks into screen. Waller says she put them in a hole and threw away the hole. She references Superman. ‘A task force of the most dangerous people on the planet who can do some good.’ ‘We have built in deniability’ because they’re bad guys. Harley Quinn hangs upside down in a cage. Deadshot beats a punching bag. Killer Croc strapped to a gurney. Harley asks, ‘Are you the devil?’ Deadshot grapples down a building. A hospital gets shot up. Enchantress sits in a pool. Deadshot calls themselves the Suicide Squad as the team forms in the street. Helicopters fire. Harley holds her bat like a shotgun. The Joker walks down a hallway. Harley strangles a guard. Batman rides the Joker’s car. Harley pops gum. Boomerang talks about crazy people. Joker’s laugh! ‘I’m not gonna kill ya!’ Joker says. The squad walks down the street. Joker goes on, ‘I’m just gonna hurt ya, really, really bad,’ with the most insane look anyone can ever have in their eyes.”

As for how all this will play into DC continuity after Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is still unknown. Producers have kept the actual storyline under an airtight seal from the public. I imagine something from the end of that film will lead into this. There are a lot more Justice League-related characters scheduled to make an appearance in that movie. Not sure how many will stay over for this film, aside from the Batman reveal and the Superman mention. Gal Gadot will probably be too busy preparing for her Wonder Woman solo film to worry about the Suicide Squad.
