John Stamos’ Rehab Stint Begins For Substance Abuse, One Month After DUI Arrest

John Stamos’ rehab stint has begun as he seeks treatment for substance abuse, one month after he was arrested for DUI.

As People Magazine reports, the Full House star checked himself into a rehab facility to get help for substance abuse.

Last month, on June 12, Stamos was arrested in Beverly Hills, California, and charged with DUI. He was later taken to a nearby hospital to investigate a possible medical condition, according to USA Today.

“Thanks to everyone for their love & support. I’m home & well,” Stamos tweeted the day following his arrest. “Very appreciative of the BHPD & Cedars for their care.”

According to a previous report by the Inquisitr, Stamos’ original court date for the DUI charge had been set for September 11, 2015. It has not been revealed yet if the date will change since he has entered the residential program. It has also not been confirmed where, or for how long, the Fuller House star will be seeking treatment.

People Magazine’s exclusive announcement comes just hours after Variety reported that Stamos had pulled out as the co-host of the 2015 Emmy Awards nominations. Deadbeat’s Cat Deeley will be taking Stamos’ place. While the actor originally cited scheduling conflicts as his reason for pulling out, his rep was not immediately able to elaborate.

Stamos has been staying busy since his June arrest. Along with Grandfathered, his upcoming Fox sitcom, Stamos is also producing and appearing in Netflix’s series Fuller House, a spin-off of the ’90s sitcom Full House. He will also be making an appearance in the upcoming sequel to My Big Fat Greek Wedding.
