Kurt Cobain Duet with Courtney Love Surfaces, ‘Stinking Of You’

A Kurt Cobain duet with Courtney Love, entitled Stinking Of You has surfaced online. The duet is performed in raw video footage, which the late singer and his wife can be heard singing, and was never finished or released.

Patty Schemel, former drummer for Courtney Love’s band Hole is the one who released the video, which shows Courtney playing an acoustic guitar while she and Cobain sing. The couple’s daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, can be seen watching her parents.

The parents can also be seen joking around and playing with Frances, who was just a baby when the film was made.

Schemel’s documentary is called Hit So Hard: The Life And Near Death Story Of Patty Schemel, and documents the singer’s life during the 1990s in Seattle, where Nirvana and the grunge scene were born.

The video also comes after former Hole guitarist Eric Erlandson announced that before his tragic death, Kurt Cobain had recorded enough material for a solo album. He stated that:

“He was headed in a direction that was really cool. He was going towards, a solo album but working with different people. I was really excited about some of the stuff he was working on. I got to see him play it in front of me. That’s why I was really sad when he died. He was cut short. Who knows where this music would have gone?”

The video, along with the duet’s title, “Stinking of You” give a cute glimpse into the lives of Cobain, Love, and daughter Frances Bean when the three were happier. With Cobain gone now, having committed suicide in 1994, and Courtney at odds with Frances (now 19), this is a small journey that will likely inspire what might have been thoughts about Kurt Cobain.
