Katy Perry: Forbes Magazine Cover Girl

Katy Perry is arguably one of the most powerful women on the planet. The hugely popular American singer, songwriter, and actress is constantly in the news, thanks to her Prismatic World Tour which began in May 2014. She’s enthralled millions of fans during more than 150 concerts spread right cross Europe, North America, Oceania, Asia, and Latin America.

People reported that Katy Perry, the stunning and altogether charming pop star, was to feature on the cover of the July edition of this year’s Forbes magazine. True to form, Katy looked radiant on the magazine’s cover.

Katy Perry posted the picture to her 22.9 million Instagram followers.

In the long message which followed the image Katy said she was told thata lot of women have previously shied away from doing it [appearing on the cover]” and wondered if it was because “they thought socially it would look like they were flaunting or bragging or it wasn’t a humble decision.”

Katy Perry went on with her message, which was clearly attempting to be an inspirational message for women around the world.

“Ladies, there is a difference between being humble and working hard to see the fruits of your labor blossom, and your dreams realized. Hopefully this cover can be an inspiration to women out there that it’s okay to be proud of hard earned success and that there is no shame in being a boss.”

In the past twelve months alone, Katy Perry has performed at 124 concerts in over 27 countries, and it is estimated that she made a whopping $135 million in one year, earning her the third position in the Forbes Celebrity 100 list of Highest Paid Entertainers. As The Guardian reported, Katy Perry is one of only sixteen women to make it into the Top 100 list this year.

Only boxers Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, who made $300 million and $160 million respectively, are ahead of Katy in terms of earnings.

Katy Perry, who is rumored to be part of an enduring yet undocumented feud with English singing sensation Taylor Swift, overtook Taylor comfortably in terms of her yearly earning power. The 30-year-old “Roar” hit-maker made $135 million in the last twelve months as opposed to Taylor Swift’s $80 million gross earnings; putting Taylor in eighth position on the list.

Katy Perry also surpassed the earnings of English boy-band One Direction by $5 million, leaving One Direction is in fourth position on the Forbes list, earning $130 million in the last twelve months.

Katy Perry has many years left in her music career and she will surely continue to “Roar” with pride as “America’s Pop export”, especially if she continues entertaining fans the way she has been in the past twelve months.
