Bill Cosby’s Walk Of Fame Star To Remain Despite Complaints

Bill Cosby is under fire once more regarding his multiple rape allegations, and this time, activist groups want actions taken and are calling to have the comedian’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star removed.

According to CBS News, a coalition of African-American civil rights leaders is calling for the removal of Bill Cosby’s star from the Hollywood Walk of Fame. This call to action reportedly came after newly released documents stated that Cosby actually admitted to obtaining Quaaludes with the intent of giving them to women that he wanted to have sex with.

According to a previous report by the Inquisitr, recent documents were released from a 2006 lawsuit in which he reportedly admitted to drugging at least one woman with Quaaludes. The documents which were released on Monday, July 6, were a part of a former Temple University employee’s lawsuit against Bill Cosby. The comedian allegedly admits to feeding the woman three and a half Benadryl pills.

Since this news broke, civil rights activists have begun calling for Cosby’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star to be removed. Earl Ofari Hutchinson of the Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable and Najee Ali of Project Islamic Hope reportedly wrote a letter in which they stated the following.

“In light of the now public admission by Comedian Bill Cosby of his illegal drugging and sexual assaults, the Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable, Project Islamic Hope and a coalition of civil rights organizations call on you and the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to immediately remove Cosby’s star from your Hollywood Walk of Fame.”

Since these calls to action have been voiced, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has had no choice but to respond to those wanting Cosby’s Walk of Fame star removed, and according to Mashable, those who want the star removed are going to be very disappointed.

“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has received inquiries asking whether we are planning to remove the stars of Donald Trump and Bill Cosby. The answer is no,” Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Leron Gubler said. “The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a registered historic landmark. Once a star has been added to the Walk, it is considered a part of the historic fabric of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Because of this, we have never removed a star from the Walk.”
