Jeffrey Dean Morgan Is Ready To Be Alicia Florrick’s Love Interest On ‘The Good Wife’
Is Jeffrey Dean Morgan going to romance Julianna Margulies on The Good Wife? While we aren’t sure what that answer might be, it seems like Jeffrey Dean Morgan is ready to take on the challenge of cracking into Alicia Florrick.
Alicia hasn’t had too much luck in the love department. There was her campaign manager Johnny, who skipped across town when things got intimate, then there was Finn who decided not to be her law partner in her new firm, due to their back and forth, which put the kibosh on their flirting relationship. We can’t even bring up her long time will-they-won’t-they affair with Will, whose fate ended in a shocking death.
So is Alicia open to love? We aren’t sure but maybe Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s character might be brought in for that purpose. According to E!, Morgan didn’t exactly know if they would venture down that path but he did tell Marc Malkin, “We’ll see. I don’t know. I’ve been told a little bit of my character’s background. I know that there’s a lot of speculation that there might be some possible romance thing happening.”
He continued, “And I know Julianna and I’ll be happy to jump into that arena with her. So we’ll see what happens.”
This isn’t the only television show you can catch Jeffrey Dean Morgan on. He’s also joining the second season of the Halle Berry saga Extant, which brought him to Comic Con to promote. Of being on two shows, Morgan joked, “Halle’s going to get pissed though! She’s going to get mad!…It’s not a bad issue. I feel like it’s an OK issue in my life!”
According to TVLine, Jeffrey Dean Morgan will play an experienced investigator who is hired by Alicia for her new firm. As we know, The Good Wife said goodbye to the show’s major investigator Kalinda, which opened the door for another cast member and a job opening.
In a statement, The Good Wife’s executive producers Robert and Michelle King said of Morgan’s new role. “We’ve loved and admired Jeffrey Dean Morgan for years, and we were thrilled to hear that Julianna did too, so it was a no-brainer to ask him to join our troupe.”
The actor is not the only new cast member joining the veteran series. According to TV Line, Torchwood’s Cush Jumbo is also joining as a private eye.
