Adrionna Williams Update: Mother Charged With Death Of Two-Year-Old Found Dead In Ravine

The mysterious death of Adrionna Williams garnered national headlines last month. As previously reported on Inquisitr, the two-year-old’s family reported her missing on June 14 but, oddly, an Amber Alert was not issued. Less than two hours after being reported missing, the toddler was found dead in a wooded ravine area near the Swissvale suburb of Pittsburgh, PA.

The previous report also states that local authorities speculated that the child was not “missing” or “abducted,” which is why the Child Abduction Emergency code was not issued. Now, there’s reportedly evidence to support the previous speculations. The suspect arrested for Adrionna’s murder is none other than her mother.

On Tuesday, July 7, Adriene Williams was arrested and now faces murder charges for the death of her daughter. According to CBS News, the Allegheny County Police Department’s online records disclose details about the 26-year-old mother’s arrest. She has been charged with criminal homicide, endangering the welfare of a child, tampering with evidence, and abuse of a corpse.

Needless to say, Adriene’s family members are devastated over the toddler’s death, and no family members were present during her arraignment on Wednesday, July 8. However, according to WPXI, some vented their frustrations via social media and had no reservations about verbalizing their resentment toward her for the heinous crime she allegedly committed. Apparently, Adriene’s family members were very instrumental in the toddler’s life and cannot understand why she would result to such drastic measures.

“How were you struggling when you really didn’t take care of her? We had her. You only had her at night,” Williams’ sister wrote.

“Man, she was not struggling. ‘Onna was with us seven days a week. (The) only time she left was when her mom came and got her at night,” Adrionna’s uncle wrote.

Adrionna’s paternal grandmother, Sonja Crosby, also recounted hearing the shocking news about Adriene’s arrest and how the daunting incident has effected the grieving family.

“My 13-year-old called me this morning and said, ‘She killed her. She killed her. I can’t believe she killed her.’ These are kids!” Crosby said. “We’ve always been there. We always told her, ‘You don’t have to be stressed, bring that baby here,'” she said. “Adrionna was loved. She did have family.”

The Office of the Medical Examiner of Allegheny County cited Adrionna’s cause of death as asphyxiation, reports the Daily Mail. Therefore, the toddler’s death was ruled a homicide. Although Adriene’s is currently being held in the Allegheny County jail without bond, a birthday tribute for Adrionna is scheduled for Sunday, July 12. Adriene Williams’ preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 17.
