NBA Rumors: Lakers Could Lose Carlos Boozer, Josh Smith On The Radar Of Many Teams

The 2015 NBA free agency has brought about some surprises, and there are still a number of things that are left unsettled. LaMarcus Aldridge has signed with the San Antonio Spurs, and DeAndre Jordan was going to Dallas before shunning them and returning to the LA Clippers. Now, Carlos Boozer may leave the LA Lakers, and Josh Smith could be on the move.

Jordan ignoring the calls and texts of the Dallas Mavericks and returning to the Los Angeles Clippers has been the biggest shocker so far. Sports Illustrated reported that he took a four-year deal worth $88 million to return.

Now, some of the bigger name players are off the board and the mid-level players are beginning to sift through the offers.

The Sacramento Kings have a lot of rumors swirling around them as DeMarcus Cousins appears to be staying put and looking forward to playing with Rajon Rondo. They could look to add a third big-name to the trio with Josh Smith.

Last season, Smith averaged 12 points, six rebounds, 2.6 assists, and was a consistent three-point shooter for the Houston Rockets. It isn’t certain if he could have those same numbers in Sacramento, but he would fit in nicely.

Now, the LA Lakers are rumored to be losing yet another player since Jeremy Lin has departed for the Charlotte Hornets. Carlos Boozer could be on his way out, according to Bleacher Report, and at least four teams are showing interest.

The New Orleans Pelicans have focused primarily on re-signing their core players, including Dante Cunningham, Omer Asik, and Alexis Ajinca. Let’s not forget that Anthony Davis has now signed a five-year extension worth $145 million.

New Orleans would be hard-pressed to find the money for Boozer, but it’s not impossible. Dallas now has some more money to spend since DeAndre Jordan returned to Los Angeles. Toronto has been a little quiet so far and could also serve as an interesting option.

The NBA rumors are continuing to flow while Carlos Boozer and Josh Smith appear to be destined for different locations. The LA Lakers have a lot going on, but they need more coming in than going out. The 2015 NBA free agency still has a lot of time left and so much could happen.
