Aaron Tveit As Danny Zuko? ‘Graceland’ Star Joins ‘Grease: Live’ Musical
It’s official — actor Aaron Tveit will play Danny Zuko in the FOX TV musical, Grease: Live.
According to Hollywood Life, the 31-year-old actor will fill the shoes that were once worn by John Travolta in the 1978 film.

In an official press release published by FOX, Tveit opened up about his reaction to the news and overall excitement of playing the leading man in the televised adaptation of the popular musical.
“I’m thrilled and honored to be joining this incredibly talented team of actors in re-imagining this classic and beloved musical. Playing Danny Zuko is a dream role and I can’t wait to be a part of all the fun that comes along with performing live on television.”
Most TV fans will probably recognize Aaron Tveit from his starring role as Mike Warren in the USA series, Graceland. However, Tveit also has an impressive resume filled with musical roles. Tveit starred in the Broadway play, Catch Me If You Can, and also originated the role “Gabe” in Next to Normal.

Aaron Tveit also had a chance to show off his singing skills and acting chops in the 2012 Oscar-winning musical film, Les Miserables.

In an interview with Hollywood Life last month, Aaron Tveit opened up about his love for singing — including his plan to return to it.
“I am planning to go back to New York and put together two separate concerts. I did something similar a few years ago that went really really well so my plan is to work with my music director and put together a few new shows and do some more fun concerts in New York, because I do miss singing even though I love my current job. Singing is one thing I don’t get to do as often as I would like so I want to take it upon myself to get that going again.”
Starring as Danny Zuko in Grease: Live will place Aaron Tveit (and his singing voice) at center stage, along with an impressive ensemble cast. The confirmed addition of Tveit essentially rounds out the cast: Julianne Hough (Rock of Ages) will play Sandy, Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical) will play Rizzo and Keke Palmer (Scream Queens) will play Marty.
