Lark Voorhies On New Husband: ‘We’re Selectively Together’

Actress Lark Voorhies did not hesitate to defend her new husband, Jimmy Green.

In a recent interview with Kevin Frazier of Entertainment Tonight, the former Saved by the Bell star made it clear that her marriage to Green was real.

“No, he’s, he’s not [taking advantage of me]. We’re, uh… selectively, uh… together for all the right reasons.”

However, when asked to explain her mother’s reaction to her marriage, Lark apparently seemed to ramble through a reportedly confusing response.

“The support was there… exact… you know, it’s all celebratory. So, it’s a very strong, powerful, uh… ongoing and, uh, we carry that through naturally in all success.”

During the same interview, Lark Voorhies addressed claims made by her mother, Patricia, in 2012 that she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. According to Voorhies, she has never been diagnosed with the disorder and has “always been mentally healthy, 100 percent stable.”

Voorhies did admit, though, that she struggled with a “sweep” of “textbook clinical depression” after the ending of her first marriage.

Frazier then targeted the encounter that allegedly took place between Lark’s mother and her new husband, leading to Patricia filing for a restraining order against him.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Jimmy Green fell asleep inside of Patricia’s closet. When she woke him up, Green allegedly yelled at her saying “You motherf**king woke me up. Ain’t that a b***h!”

When asked by Frazier if he acted aggressively towards Lark’s mother, Jimmy Green denied it — claiming that his actions did not warrant the filing of a restraining order.

“Not enough to get a restraining order… I wasn’t aggressive. I was just, I was just aggressive being… blunt and demanding.”

Lark Voorhies cut her husband off during his response, claiming that she felt he was just “powerfully spoken.”

Green also had a chance to talk about his marriage to Lark Voorhies when asked what he wanted viewers to be able to take away from that interview in general.

“We’re the same as any other couple out there that’s in love and trying to accomplish business together. It’s not a scam or a way to get money.”

Lark Voorhies added that it was a “powerful uniting of, you know, uh… one active productive purpose.”

Lark and Jimmy met one another on Facebook and dated for over a year before they became husband and wife back in April. The newly wed couple is reportedly working on Lark’s singing career and producing an album together.
