Answer ‘The Hunger Games’ Call To ‘Stand With The Mockingjay’ [Video]

For fans looking forward to the release of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, the November release can seem like an excruciatingly long wait, but Lionsgate has released some new goodies to keep fans of The Hunger Games franchise properly teased.

First off, Lionsgate released a new poster that at once casts Katniss Everdeen, played so perfectly by Jennifer Lawrence, in the role of leader, as well as warrior, and also seems to foretell a bitter end to President Snow’s reign of tyranny.

The original release of the new Hunger Games poster was accompanied by an inspiring caption.

“The Capitol Must Fall so We May Be Free.”

Fan responses flooded Twitter almost as soon as the new poster for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 was released, showing as much support for the latest and final installment in The Hunger Games franchise as Katniss received upon asking the districts to follow her into battle.

“Katniss looks amazing in a red suit; I stand with the mockingjay,” one fan tweeted.

“Love the red Katniss on the Snow throne! #Unite,” responded another fan, eager to draw attention to Katniss Everdeen’s apparent victory.

If that wasn’t enough to renew anticipation in the hearts of Hunger Games fans, Lionsgate also released a new teaser from the film. Possibly the most powerful image as yet seen from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 is the sight of Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) standing atop the three-finger monument, which Hunger Games fans recognize as the revolutionary symbol of freedom. The symbol grew in significance throughout The Hunger Games films, starting with the first film, when Katniss formed the symbol with her own fingers, following Rue’s death.

The teaser for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, as well as the film’s official Twitter page, asks fans to “Stand with ‘The Mockingjay.'”

“After being symbolized as the “Mockingjay”, Katniss Everdeen and District 13 engage in an all-out revolution against the autocratic Capitol.”

Based on the new posters and teasers we’re seeing for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, it seems Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss is preparing to bring a full-out war to President Snow’s doorstep with no holds barred. There haven’t been any spoilers released, as far as the final outcome, but, if the new Hunger Games promotional materials are any indication, there can only be one victor and we know who she is!

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth, hits theaters on November 20.
