Pitch Perfect 2: Clay Matthews And Green Bay Packers Teammates Earn Teen Choice Award Nomination

Pitch Perfect 2 may have been pretty much completely focused on the Bellas, but apparently there was another group of stars in the movie who stole the show. As reported by Sporting News, a few specific Green Bay Packers have been nominated for a Teen Choice Award for their impressive role in Pitch Perfect 2.

“Pro Bowl linebacker Clay Matthews and offensive linemen Josh Sitton, David Bakhtiari, T.J. Lang and Don Barclay — along with Jordan Rodgers, the younger brother of Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers — were all nominated in the “Choice Movie Scene Stealer” category.”

If you missed it, here’s your chance to see a quick clip of what the Packers brought to the table in their Pitch Perfect 2 performance. This clip doesn’t really do their entire Pitch Perfect performance justice, but hey, you have to take what you can get, or go see the movie!

Now, for what it’s worth, the Packers are going up against some stiff competition for the Teen Choice Award. Not only will Pitch Perfect 2 be represented by the Packers, but also by Adam DeVine and Hailee Steinfeld. On top of that, Chris Evans in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Nicholas Hoult in Mad Max: Fury Road, and Miles Teller in Insurgent are also up for the award, according to 247 Sports.

For any sports fans, or even just fans of the Pitch Perfect series, it was pretty great to see the Packers play a role in the movie. Could they end up playing a role in Pitch Perfect 3? Oh yes, there’s a Pitch Perfect 3. To this point, we unfortunately have no word as to whether or not the Packers will make another showing in the new Pitch Perfect movie, which will debut in 2017, but let’s keep our fingers crossed.

One thing that is safe to say is that if Clay Matthews decides to hang up the cleats anytime soon, maybe there’s a future in acapella for the Pro Bowl linebacker.
