Former UFC Fighter Shayna Baszler Will Participate In Wrestling Show – Is One Of The ‘Four Horsewomen’ Done With MMA?

Back in 2003, Shayna Bazsler made her debut in MMA, taking on Tina Johnson for the now-defunct Reality Cage Fighting promotion. Over the next 12 years, Bazsler would fight for numerous promotions including ShoXC, EliteXC, Strikeforce, and even UFC. Unfortunately, Bazsler is considered a fighter who remains constant as recognized by her mediocre MMA record of 15-10-0 despite the fact she trains with Ronda Rousey.

Recently, Shayna Bazsler’s performance was a poor three-loss streak, enough for UFC to release her. People than questioned what she would do next. Thankfully, we now know what Bazsler’s next endeavor is as she will perform at a wrestling show. The question is if her appearance in wrestling is an omen that she’s done with MMA.

According to the official website for Elite Canadian Championship Wrestling (ECCW), the promotion will be holding an upcoming event titled Ballroom Brawl 4. The card consists of four matches which includes a main event ladder match for their championships, a tag team match for their tag team championships, a six-man elimination, falls count anywhere match for the No. 1 contendership, and a singles match.

The fourth match in the aforementioned (the singles match) is the one that should pique interest for Shayna Baszler fans, as reported by Wrestling Inc. In it, Bishop will be taking on the “Loose Cannon” Kenny Lush. One particular detail, however, is the fact each wrestler has a valet/manager in their corner. Bishop has the Goddess Mandy. Lush on the other hand gets the Baszler.

Seeing Shayna Baszler in a wrestling event isn’t too far-fetched either given the fact she is one of MMA’s unofficial “Four Horsewomen,” four MMA female fighters who love professional wrestling. Along with Baszler, Jessamyn Duke, Marina Shafir, and Ronda Rousey (who has participated in one of the most memorable moments at Wrestlemania 31 with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Triple H, and Stephanie McMahon) are its other members.

It will be interesting to see Shayna Baszler participate in a wrestling promotion. However, there is no word if she is now a part of ECCW’s roster or if her participation is a one-time ordeal. Only time will tell. Until then, Baszler can be seen at ECCW’s Ballroom Brawl 4 which takes place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on Saturday, July 11, 2015. The venue is held at the Commodore Ballroom. Bell time is at 8 p.m. PST.
