Los Angeles Angels Trade Rumors: Josh Reddick, Ben Zobrist Trade Discussions Had With Oakland Athletics

Los Angeles Angels trade rumors link the team to the Oakland Athletics again. The Angels want Josh Reddick and Ben Zobrist, and have entered into discussion about both players with the Athletics. With a good chance at making the 2015 MLB Playoffs, the Angels are looking to improve an offense that hasn’t been that consistent at the plate. A report from Fox Sports confirms that there were discussions between the Angeles and Athletics involving Reddick. It didn’t lead to much, but it could turn into something before the MLB trade deadline.

Another report from Fox Sports addressed the Ben Zobrist trade rumors, showing just how much chatter has surrounded the All-Star utility player. Zobrist has repeatedly been asked about his future, especially since he is in the final year of his current contract. That fact alone has led to many baseball analysts predicting he is one of the most likely players in baseball to be dealt before the deadline. The New York Yankees have shown a lot of interest, but the Angels have recently been doing the same. Zobrist answered questions about how much he liked Oakland and what he thought of the buzz.

“I like it (Oakland) as much as I like any other city in the big leagues. We have to see how things play out here. We’ve been playing really well the past four weeks and if we are to go on a run here, we have a legitimate chance. It’s not up to us (players), but no one is giving up on anything.”

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Ben Zobrist trade chatter is not exactly new this season, and neither are Los Angeles Angels trade rumors. The Oakland Athletics have been entertaining offers for Zobrist since they acquired him from the Tampa Bay Rays, and the Angels are looking for ways to improve a slumping roster. It seems like the two teams are a good fit for a deal, but the front office in Oakland doesn’t want to help out a division rival while the Athletics are still in the playoff race. It’s starting to appear more bleak for the A’s, though, as a recent streak of bad play has pushed the team eight games out of a wild card slot.

This is about the time of year where the Athletics make trades, so it’s not surprising that the team has come up in a lot of rumors. The front office made a lot of waves recently by dealing Josh Donaldson to the Toronto Blue Jays, basically proving that nobody is off limits. The chatter is going to continue and another player that might surface in the Los Angeles Angels trade rumors is Scott Kazmir. The Oakland Athletics may want to trade him as well, and the Angels could surely use an improvement in the starting rotation.
