New ‘GTA V’ DLC Released Alongside Online Patch, Adds More Vehicles And Updates To Mission Creation Tools


Releasing the second free content update in as many months, Rockstar Games has rewarded Grand Theft Auto V fans by launching part two of the “Ill-Gotten Gains” update across all platforms today. Similar to the first offering of this two-part DLC pack, the “Ill-Gotten Gains Update: Part Two” introduces new vehicles, clothing, and more to GTA V.

While detailing exactly what users can expect inside this week’s new free DLC for Grand Theft Auto V, the team behind the popular open-world franchise revealed on their Rockstar Newswire blog that the purpose of both recent DLC releases were intended to give players new high-end items to purchase. Specifically, the developer is trying to give gamers something to spend their new-found fortunes on for those who have managed to create a stockpile of cash since co-op heist missions were finally added to GTA Online earlier this year.

“With an outbreak of Heists hitting the city recently, merchants have rushed to stock their shelves and showrooms with exotic collectables to accommodate Los Santos’ new class of heavily armed and upwardly mobile professionals. Part 2 of The Ill-Gotten Gains Update for GTA Online delivers desirable new vehicles, unforgiving new weapons and clothes to make you stand out in a crowd”

In total, the “Ill-Gotten Gains: Part Two” DLC adds five new vehicles to GTA V. These can be purchased both within GTA Online as well as inside the title’s single-player campaign. The add-on also gives players access to two additional weapons. For those who like to customize their in-game character’s appearance, this new update also adds more tattoos and clothing options.

As with any time that a free online DLC is released for Grand Theft Auto V, the add-on was also launched alongside a new title update. In addition to all of the new content features that were included as part of “Ill-Gotten Gains: Part Two,” Rockstar Games also released several other tweaks and fixes with the launch of Title Update 1.28. Besides addressing many game bugs and other known issues, the new update brought more options to the mission creation tools found within GTA V.

“This new Title Update (1.28) additionally includes many other new enhancements, improvements and fixes for known issues. Amongst these items by popular demand will be the ability for creators to make custom Jobs at the Los Santos International Airport and the Fort Zancudo Military Base for the first time.”

Rockstar Games didn’t’ make fans wait long before getting their hands on today’s new GTA V content after first announcing the new DLC just last week. In an attempt to be completely transparent, the developer also posted the full change log for Grand Theft Auto V‘s Title Update 1.28 on the official Rockstar Support website.
