Jeff Goldblum: Son Born On July 4 Makes ‘Independence Day’ Actor, 62, 1st-Time Dad With Emilie Livingston, 32 [Photos]

Jeff Goldblum has a son, and revealed that he’s thrilled to become a dad for the first time at age 62. Jeff and his wife, Emilie Livingston Goldblum, won’t have problems remembering their child’s birthday, because little Charlie Ocean was born on July 4, reported People.

“We’re so excited to share the wonderful news of the birth of our son, Charlie Ocean Goldblum, born on the 4th of July. Independence Day,” shared Jeff on his Facebook page.

Goldblum is immersed in Independence Day: Resurgence, but as a first-time father, films take second place to parenting. He announced his future bundle of joy while visiting David Letterman’s show in January.

“It’s a boy. We picked out a name, as a matter of fact,” declared Jeff. “If it stays — this is our current thinking — [it’ll be] Elliott Charlie.”

Apparently, Goldblum subsequently decided that his son’s first name should be Charlie and swapped in Ocean for Elliott.

Emilie Livingston is known as an aerialist and contortionist. At 32, she married Jeff in November.

When Jeff told Letterman about the baby bump that his wife was sporting, Goldblum also shared that he had learned about the pregnancy on the day of their wedding, reported E! News.

Despite the bundle of joy in her tummy, Emilie joined Jeff in doing demonstrations of tumbling and contortions on the episode. And Dave may have influenced the baby’s final name.

“You can’t go wrong with Charlie,” Letterman had opined.

Jeff has been married twice before, and told Larry King in 2012 that he was contemplating fatherhood this time around.

Larry was an enthusiastic proponent of parenting.

“Nothing beats fatherhood,” King reassured Jeff.

“You think so?” Goldblum sought reassurance.

And the now-first-time father also confirmed that Emilie was in agreement.

“Yes, I think she [wants children],” said Jeff then.

It looks as if that contemplation of fatherhood turned into a definite, as Jeff and Emilie make the Goldblum family a threesome with the addition of their son.

Also recently welcoming their first child, a son, were Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake, as the Inquisitr reported.

When Justin’s mom, Lynn Harless, discovered the baby’s name, she took to social media to voice her joy.

“My amazing son and his beautiful wife have given us the most precious gift in the world! Silas Randall Timberlake! Named after my father and my son! Life is beautiful and we couldn’t be happier! God bless you all and thanks for all the congrats!”
