Baby’s Body Found In River: 7-Month-Old Baby Tossed In Connecticut River By Suicidal Father Say Police

A baby’s body was found in the Connecticut river, evidently tossed there by his suicidal father.

According to the Huffington Post, 22-year-old Tony Moreno threw his son, Aaden, 7-months, into the river on Monday, and then tried to kill himself by leaping off the Arrigoni Bridge in Middletown. Moreno was found and taken to a nearby hospital, where he is listed in critical condition. His son’s body was found in the river the next day.

“Moreno’s family called police on Monday to report that Moreno was threatening to commit suicide and that he had the baby with him, police said. Two officers arrived in time to see Moreno jump off the 120-foot bridge but did not see the baby.”

The baby’s body was found in the river on Tuesday. Police say that Moreno will face criminal charges, but have not said what those charges will be. Murder in the first degree is likely. According to the Toronto Sun, Moreno had made threats against his son’s mother, and against his son, in the past. Records indicate that there was an incident over the past couple of months that caused the baby boy’s mother to obtain a restraining order against Moreno.

“Court records made available Tuesday show that Moreno had recently been accused of threatening the child and the child’s mother, Adrianne Oyola. Oyola said in a June restraining order application that Moreno had struck her and told her that he could make the baby ‘disappear.’ “

It is unknown how Moreno picked up the child, but it sounds like he kidnapped him before killing him.

The baby’s body found in the Connecticut river wasn’t the only child’s body found over the past month. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, police in Massachusetts found the body of a little girl, believed to be about 4-years-old. The child was placed in a trash bag that was found on the shore of Deer Island. Police have not been able to identify the child (named “Baby Doe”), and have asked for the public’s help. They say that she had only been dead for a couple of days, and are hoping for answers soon. It does appear as though “Baby Doe” was murdered, and police are hoping to make an arrest in the case.
