Maroon 5 Fans Outraged That Celebrities Are Hoarding Tickets And Buying Unfairly

There’s no denying that Maroon 5 is one of the most popular pop bands of this generation. And because of that popularity, Maroon 5 fans are understandably frustrated that a few lesser-known celebrities are using their wealth and fame to obtain tickets to see the band unfairly.

According to Coconuts Bangkok, the actor Siwat “Cee” Chottichaicharin was in so much hot water for suspiciously obtaining five quality seats at a Maroon 5 concert that he held a press conference to explain himself. He admitted he got the tickets unfairly and basically implied that he purchased the Maroon 5 tickets at a high price from a scalper.

“I bought them for a ‘special price,’ ” Cee said. “But I don’t know whether there was an early sale of the tickets or not. The way I got them is unfair, though.”

Adding to the controversy, another celebrity revealed to the public that she had obtained a massive amount of excellent Maroon 5 tickets for a large group of her famous friends. Former Miss Universe Morakot “Aimee” Kittisara posted a photo of herself to Instagram with 25 Maroon 5 tickets taped to the wall. She then tagged each of her celebrity friends to the tickets to show them they all had seats together.

This shouldn’t be possible because Thai Ticket Major only sells six tickets at a time, and many ticket retailers sold out the Maroon 5 show almost instantly. The actor, Cee, denied any involvement with Aimee’s 25 Maroon 5 tickets, but defensively claimed that nobody has any right to know how celebrities obtain various special privileges.

“I don’t know if Aimee has a team to help click for tickets online or not.” Cee said at the press conference. “And I don’t know if her tickets are all seated together, but my five tickets are next to each other.”

Fans were so upset with the celebrities abusing their wealth and status to obtain tickets (possibly illegally) that the promoter for the Maroon 5 show was forced to add a second performance to ensure fans would get seats.

The backlash over the Maroon 5 show was so severe that Chottichaicharin actually decided not to go to the concert after all, and isn’t taking four of his friends, either.

Do you think the celebrities should be criticized for hoarding the Maroon 5 tickets?

This isn’t the first time Maroon 5 ticket sales have caused a controversy. Read about the tickets that suddenly disappeared after fans waited in line for hours to buy some.

Otherwise, Maroon 5 is keeping busy, having lately released a remix of “This Summer,” courtesy of Alesso.
