LuAnn De Lesseps Discusses New Single ‘Girl Code,’ Reveals How ‘RHONY’ Inspired Song

LuAnn de Lesseps and the cast of The Real Housewives of New York City, including Ramona Singer, Bethenny Frankel, and Sonja Morgan, have endured quite the dramatic few months. In fact, the latest season of the hit Bravo series was so eventful that it actually inspired a new single!

In an interview with Radar Online on July 6, LuAnn de Lesseps revealed how the now-airing seventh season inspired her latest song, “Girl Code.”

“This song was inspired by the Turks and Caicos [trip]and somebody breaking the Girl Code. One of the ladies broke the girl code and you will see. The girl code is when somebody is crossing the line with a girlfriend. It’s when they do something like Carole [Radziwill) who dates my chef, who is going out with my niece … that’s breaking the girl code.”

At the start of the seventh season of The Real Housewives of New York City, LuAnn de Lesseps and the rest of the housewives were shocked to discover Radziwill was dating her much-younger chef. As the season continued, Radziwill’s unconventional relationship continued to be a main storyline.

“It caused a big rift with my niece. She was very upset. And Carole says in the show, ‘I don’t care what she thinks and I don’t care what her niece thinks.’ Well you know what, you broke the girl code!”

As for LuAnn de Lesseps’ upcoming video for “Girl Code,” she told Radar Online fans could expect to see at least one of her co-stars in the video.

“You’ll probably see a couple of the housewives in it. I’d like to have Bethenny and Dorinda, and maybe Sonja.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, one housewife fans won’t be seeing in LuAnn de Lesseps’ music video is Heather Thomson. Although the pair got along alright during Season 6, their Season 7 interaction has been much different, and, as Radar Online reported, their friendship has been on the decline ever since filming wrapped on The Real Housewives of New York City Season 7 earlier this year.

“Let’s just say our friendship is declining. The escalator is not going up, it’s going down,” Luann De Lesseps revealed. “When you approach somebody and you see they don’t really want to have you [in their] business, you kind of back away, but that’s not her strategy. She just keeps on pushing.”
