Demi Lovato Wipes Out During A Performance At A Pool Party, Shakes It Off Like A Pro

Demi Lovato took a nasty spill Sunday while performing for an L.A. crowd, but like the pro she is, she took her wipeout in stride and gave the fans something to cheer about, E.T. Canada is reporting.

Lovato was in town for a local radio station’s pool party to celebrate her new single, “Cool for the Summer.” She was decked out in high heels, on a plastic stage built over a pool, while partygoers were splashing and having a good time. You can see where this is going.

For those who can’t, or won’t, stream videos on their computer, after her wipeout Demi stands up and then jumps into the pool. The crowd goes wild.

Fortunately, Demi doesn’t take herself too seriously. She’s fallen on stage before, but she admits that it doesn’t bother her, and that the best recovery from a wipeout is to embrace it and move on.

“The best medicine for embarrassment is to laugh at yourself. There have been many times when I’ve fallen onstage. The truth is that I’m just a clumsy person and it’s something I’ve learned to embrace and even love. Every time I fall onstage, I can choose to be embarrassed and run away, or I can land, pose, and smile. If I can make people laugh before they laugh at me, then the fall doesn’t hurt. Laugh at yourself. Don’t take everything so seriously.”

Although Demi’s wipeout looks quite painful, she doesn’t appear to have been injured.

Demi’s fans — well, some of them, anyway — expressed their concerns for the 22-year-old on social media. Others had fun with it.

“Cool for the Summer” is Demi Lovato’s first single from her upcoming album, according to Huffington Post. It’s already reached No. 1 on iTunes.
