Colored Contacts That Look Real: New 1-Day Contact Lenses Called ‘Acuvue Define’ All The Rage On Beauty Blogs [Video]

According to Google AdWords, the search term “colored contacts” gets 74,000 searches per month. “Color contacts” gets 33,100 queries per month, and “colored contact lenses” gets 27,100 searches per month from Googlers wanting to enhance their eye color. Colorful contact lenses would likely get plenty more searches if they didn’t look so darned fake — and now that a new natural looking contact lens called “Acuvue Define” is making big buzz on beauty blogs, as reported by Cosmopolitan U.K., expect interest in the “contact lenses as a form of cosmetic makeup” to increase.

The proof is in the photos of Acuvue Define on Google Images.

According to the Daily Mail, the new Acuvue Define range of contact lenses is being pegged by Acuvue as helping folks look younger and better. They contain a pigment that defines the iris border — a thing called the “limbal ring” — that’s usually well-defined among the young, but fades with age. By restoring that ring via the 1-day contact lenses, wearers can appear younger and more healthful.

Some of the differences in the images of the eyes with the Acuvue Define lenses are striking.

The eye on the left has a clear 1 Day Moist lens, the other eye has Natural Sparkle.

The products appear to be mainly available on the web, like at Walgreens, which has the 1-Day Acuvue Define Natural Sparkle 30 pack for $40 as of this writing. The 1-Day Acuvue Define Accent 30 pack, 1-Day Acuvue Define Natural Shine 30 pack, 1-Day Acuvue Define Vivid 30 pack and 1-Day Acuvue Define Natural Shimmer 30 pack all are listed as $40 each as well, with 30 lenses per box.

There are also 90-pack versions with 90 lenses per box that are priced at $94 at this time.

Apparently, beauty users who don’t need contact lenses can still avail themselves of this new contact lens beauty product, because the Walgreens website allows folks to enter the value of zero power for their Right Eye (OD) and Left Eye (OS) values.

YouTube videos about the new Acuvue Define contact lenses are also becoming pretty popular. One YouTube user called “My Beauty Mimi” talks about wearing the Acuvue lenses instead of “circle lenses,” which were drying to her eyes and not the healthiest. She calls the Acuvue lenses her holy grail that helps make her eyes look brighter and bigger and more defined. Her favorite are the Vivid lenses, which she says enlarges her eyes the most — but she also wears the Accent and speaks of the Natural Shine style for the sake of the video.

As reported by the Inquisitr, another YouTube video going viral is one from the acne make-up coverage guru named Em Ford called “You Look Disgusting,” which received 4.17 million views.
