Pet Food Recall: Stella & Chewy’s Recall Products Due To Possible Listeria

A pet food recall for Stella & Chewy’s has been issued due to possible listeria contamination.

On Thursday, the Maryland Department of Agriculture (MDA) notified the pet food company that they were to stop sale of Chewy’s Chicken Freeze-Dried Dinner Patties for Dogs because the MDA had detected Listeria monocytogenes in the product. Those patties come from lot number 111-115 and are the 15-oz. bags.

Although the other products have not yet tested positive for listeria, Stella & Chewy’s made the decision to go ahead and voluntarily recall all of the products from lot number 111-115.

“The health and safety of our customers and their pets is always of the utmost importance to us,” the company wrote in a press release regarding the pet food recall. “We are accountable for every dinner and treat we make and recognize that we have an important obligation to provide customers with the quality products they deserve and have come to expect from us over the years.”
