Diana Douglas Death: Mother Of Michael Douglas Dies At The Age Of 92


The first wife of Kirk Douglas, and mother of Michael Douglas, Diana Douglas has died. Diana was 92-years-old and died from cancer. Diana Douglas’s death occurred at a hospital in Woodland Hills, California. Her husband, Donald Webster, commented about Diana Douglas’s death.

“She was a person much beloved by everyone. One of her greatest qualities was that she was always thinking of the other person. She had many talents. She had an amazing circle of friends who really loved and cared about her, the kindest people you would meet. She was a great lady, truly an exceptional person.”

Diana Douglas made her Hollywood film debut in 1942. Her first contract was with Warner Bros. and was worth $200-a-week. In 1943, Diana married Kirk Douglas. The two had met earlier in life while they were both attending the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Their son, Michael Douglas, was born a year later in 1944. It was after the birth of their second son, Joel Douglas, that the couple realized that their marriage was getting towards the end. Kirk and Diana divorced in 1951.

In 1956, Broadway producer Bill Darrid married Diana. The two remained married for the next 36 years until Darrid died in 1992.

Diana married her third husband, Donald Webster, in 2002. The couple remained married until Diana Douglas’s death on July 3, 2015.

Diana Douglas’s acting career spanned 61 years. Her first film in 1942 was titled Keeper of the Flame. Her last acting role was in 2003. The film was called It Runs in the Family. Diana was surrounded by her family in the movie. Kirk, Michael, and grandson Cameron all had a role in her last film.
