WWE News: ‘WWE 2K16’ Cover To Be Revealed On ‘RAW’ Monday — Will Brock Lesnar Be On The Cover?

It looks like WWE is planning to reveal the WWE 2K16 cover on this coming Monday’s RAW in Chicago. The unveiling of the coming year’s WWE video game is always one of the most-anticipated events, and this year is no exception.

Over the last couple of years the WWE 2K cover-star has been Randy Orton, CM Punk, The Rock, and John Cena. There was even an alternative cover for WWE 2K14, which featured Daniel Bryan.

Typically, the WWE 2K cover-star is the hottest superstar in WWE at the time, and there is arguably no one hotter in WWE right now than Brock Lesnar, who many people are predicting will be featured on the cover of the game. If he is, it won’t be the first time Lesnar was on the cover of a WWE video game. Back in 2002, Lesnar was one of five on the cover of WWE SmackDown: Shut Your Mouth, joining Triple H, Booker T, Kurt Angle, and Chris Jericho. The following year, Lesnar was the only superstar featured on the cover of that year’s WWE game, as the game was named after him — WWE SmackDown: Here Comes The Pain.

There are some WWE fans who think that Roman Reigns will be on the cover of the game if Brock Lesnar is not. Putting Reigns on the cover would make sense, as WWE is trying to push him as a bigger-than-life star, and having him featured on the cover of a video game that is one of 2K Sports’ best-selling franchises would definitely help his star-power.

The unveiling of the WWE 2K16 cover will begin a summer of hype for the game, as the roster — which will have the biggest roster in the history of the game, featuring 120 unique characters — will be revealed during SummerSlam weekend next month.

Every year, the WWE 2K franchise has a different story mode that the user can play through. Last year it was the “2K Showcase” mode, where you were able to play though some of WWE’s most legendary feuds, including CM Punk vs. John Cena, and Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H. This year, it will feature the journey of arguably the biggest star in WWE history, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.

Part of “Stone Cold’s” career has already been covered back in WWE ’13, where the “Attitude Era” — which Austin was the focal point of — was that year’s featured story mode.

WWE 2K16 is scheduled to be released on October 27.
