‘Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege’ Goes On Pre-Launch Competition Tour This Summer

Prepare yourself, Rainbow Six Siege fans. Siege Day is coming. Sometime in early October, six teams will compete in the latest entry of Tom Clancy’s multiplayer, first-person shooter for bragging rights and prizes at a yet to be disclosed location in Los Angeles. To give fans a shot at attending the event alongside celebrity guests, Ubisoft has announced a summer competition tour called The Siege Games. At four key convention events in North America, fans can play has many Rainbow Six Siege matches as they like months before the game is released on October 13, 2015. Each match gives them an entry into the drawing for the grand prize, which is an all-expenses paid trip to all the Siege Day festivities. Alternatively, players can also enter the contest by participating in the closed beta beginning September 24, 2015.

The Rainbow Six Siege battle begins at the nation’s largest geek event of the year: San Diego Comic-Con. The Siege Games event is being held at the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter in the Santa Rosa Room from July 8 through July 12.

Next stop on the tour is RTX at the Austin Convention Center from August 7 until August 9. Then, it’s on to PAX Prime at the Seattle Convention Center from August 28 through August 31. Finally, the tour wraps up on September 2 at the final live battleground in Las Vegas at GameStop’s EXPO 2015. After Rainbow Six Siege wowed attendees at E3 2015, players competing in The Siege Games might want to prepare for long lines at each event location and brush up on the game by reading a developer tip or two.

For those hoping to enter the Rainbow Six Siege fray from the comfort of their own home, Ubisoft is giving players the opportunity to lock-in access to the closed beta in exchange for a donation to Extra Life. The Extra Life fundraising program raises money for The Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. By making a donation of $6 USD or more to Extra Life, a beta code will be emailed to the donor and the donation goes to benefit the nearest network hospital in the donor’s community. Michael Kinney from Team Extra Life explains the organization’s mission and his reaction to the collaboration.

“At Extra Life, our motto is ‘play games, heal kids.’ Giving back to the kids who need it most should be fun, and what’s more fun than playing games? We’re thrilled to combine the passion of Rainbow Six fans and the Extra Life community to create an astronomical force for good to help sick and injured kids everywhere.”
