Paul Rudd Talks ‘Clueless’ Reunion

Is Paul Rudd ready to have a Clueless reunion? The star is currently promoting Marvel’s Ant-Man, and, of course, some outlets couldn’t help themselves from asking him about a possible Clueless reunion.

Rudd replied by saying,”I don’t know. I think they’re getting ready to do it as a Broadway musical. I’ve heard about that recently, which is exciting.”

Rudd would be right. As the Inquisitr reported, Clueless is coming to Broadway as a musical. According to Amy Heckerling, the director of Clueless, they’re hoping that the musical will have a real “jukebox” kind of feel, just like Green Day’s American Idiot.

About the development of the Clueless musical, Heckerling said, “I’ve written what they call the book, and it’s a jukebox musical. Everything goes so slowly. I go, wow, this takes a lot. I thought movies took a long time. It’s hard to know with Broadway when things will happen.”

That said, Paul Rudd didn’t get a chance to reunite with his Clueless castmates when the opportunity came in 2014. According to Us Magazine, Alicia Silverstone (Cher), Stacey Dash (Dionne), Elisa Donovan (Amber), and director Amy Heckerling reunited at the L.A. Film Festival and screened the 1995 cult film. The group took the stage afterward for a Q&A.

At the time, Heckerling told the audience, “I am so lucky that they were all out there at the time. I saw the ‘Cryin’ video for Aerosmith and when Alicia gave the finger, I said, ‘There’s my girl.’ We met and I just loved her immediately.”

As for Dionne, Heckerling said, “I wanted somebody that seemed like she was royalty and she can easily be government.”

Although Paul Rudd was left out of the event, it doesn’t seem like he’s missing out on any fun times. Just recently he decided to let it rip, when he “farted” through a whole interview. Rudd used the squeaky chair he was sitting on to create fart sounds, and cracked the reporter up while doing so. The video quickly went viral and is making Rudd that more adorable to fans. Looks like someone was bored during the press day.

Although he’s still charming, we don’t exactly know if it has anyone racing to the theaters to see Ant-Man.

One Twitter user wrote, “Ant-Man? That is absolutely ridiculous and the trailer looks horrible.”

While another tweeted,”lmao I’d pay for crap (literally) but no way I’d pay to see ant-man.”
