Terrified Sisters Call 911 When Two Robbers Enter Home While They’re Alone

Two terrified sisters called 911 when two robbers entered their Nashville home while they were alone and you won’t believe were they hid from the intruders.

The audio reveals the harrowing ordeal the 16- and 13-year-old sisters suffered when they were left home alone Monday. Shortly after 9 a.m., the girls told police they noticed two burglars trying to break into one of the back doors of their home.

As soon as they realized what was happening the terrified sisters called 911, ran to their parents bathroom, and locked themselves inside. They thought hiding in the tiny cabinets would be a good idea and it proved to be the best possible thing.

In the 911 call, the 16-year-old is heard telling the dispatcher urgently, “They’re in the house. Please hurry.”

As it happened, one of the burglars thought the same bathroom the sisters used to hide would be a great place for him to escape police. The quick thinking sisters told 911 the man was in the same room they were in, according to News2.

The sisters who called 911 after Brian Tomberlind, 31, and Carlos Murillo, 29, broke into their house decided to share what happened to them to bring awareness to other kids. The girls did not wish to be identified, however, the 16-year-old talked about their ordeal to Channel4, saying they relied on each other more than ever before.

“I saw him through this door and through this window right here. At this point, I immediately called 911 right here. And we were walking, I mean hurrying back through here.

“I couldn’t get this door shut. It doesn’t fit for some reason, so I couldn’t get it shut. So at first, I thought to go in these cabinets back here.

“At one point, they threw this door open and realized there was probably nothing in here.”

As the burglars walked around the home, the girls hid inside the tight-fitting cabinets. While there, they heard police arrive, but had to stay quiet when Murillo locked himself inside with them. He didn’t notice they were there.

“So he came back in here, came in this room with us and locked himself,” the 16-year-old said. “He managed to get the door shut and locked himself in here with us.”

Murillo was apprehended on site and Tomberlind fled in a car. He later got out and escaped on foot, but was later captured with the help of a police dog. Police credit the quick-thinking teens for capturing the robbers.

The 13-year-old girl said her sister had been invited to go to the beach the day before, but was thankfully home at the time.

“You never think this is actually gonna happen to you,” the older sister told WKRN. “I’m most glad that I could help, you know, capture two guys that could’ve done worse.”

Thanks to the two sisters who called 911, Murillo and Tomberlind are now behind bars and face several charges including aggravated burglary and possession of burglary tools, among others.
