Who’s The Inspiration Behind Rihanna’s ‘BBHMM’ Music Video?

Rihanna released the full theatrical version of the music video for her track, “B***h Better Have My Money,” Wednesday night, sending fans into a frenzy over the highly explicit seven-minute featurette. The video shows Rihanna engaging in everything from kidnapping, torture, drugs, and vandalism before ultimately committing murder, leaving fans to wonder who inspired the songstress to write such an aggressive track.

With the new video for “BBHMM” dropping some not-so-subtle hints about who ultimately has Rihanna’s money, sources are now weighing in on who they believe inspired the chart-topping single.

Rihanna’s video opens with a rich blonde woman preparing for an evening out as she makes her way through her luxurious hotel room, dressing in the finest clothing before exiting her room to make her way to the elevator. However, upon entering the elevator, the mystery blonde comes face-to-face with Rihanna, who ends up stuffing the woman in a large chest before throwing her in the trunk, People reports.

Rihanna, alongside her two assistants, then proceed to torture the woman while holding her captive, even managing to hang her upside down in the nude while Rihanna continues to threaten a mystery man on the phone for not having her money.

Rihanna and her henchwomen continue to look glam as they party on a boat, light a car on fire, and smoke weed in a shady hotel room with their captive before Rihanna reveals that the mystery woman is the wife of the man who has her money.

Rihanna ultimately finds the man, who she calls “the Accountant AKA the B*tch” in her video, explaining that he must die for not forking over her cash. “BBHMM” closes with Rihanna lounging nude and blood-covered in the trunk that held her captive as she happily smokes a suspicious-looking cigarette on top of a pile of cash.

While the video certainly raised eyebrows while garnering praise from fans, most are still wondering: Who is Rihanna referring to in “BBHMM”?

Cosmoplitan reports that “the b*tch” in Rihanna’s video may be inspired by her real-life accountant, whom she sued in 2012 for giving her bad financial advice that left her “effectively bankrupt” at the end of 2009.

Rihanna filed a lawsuit against her former accountant Peter Gounis after he encouraged her to purchase a $7.5 million Beverly Hills home even though he knew that Rihanna was “running out of cash.” Rihanna’s court documents explained that the songstress ended the year with $2 million despite starting out the year with $11 million. Rihanna explains that she later sold the house at a loss after discovering that it had “mold, leaks, and other problems” that would have required expensive repairs.

Gounis combatted Rihanna’s claims, insisting that her allegations were “false” and accused her of blaming him for her “bad decisions.”

Rihanna ultimately won the multimillion-dollar settlement from Gounis and his accounting firm, however, it seems Rihanna is still a bit bitter about him trying to hold her money.
