Iman Shumpert Re-Signs With Cleveland Cavaliers For Four Years, $40 Million — Twitter Pounces

Iman Shumpert came to the Cleveland Cavaliers from the New York Knicks along with guard J.R. Smith in a January 2015 trade. Today, Shumpert decided to re-sign with the Cavs for four years and $40 million.

Last season between the Knicks and Cavs, Shumpert averaged 8.0 points, to go along with 3.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists. During the 2015 playoffs run, Iman brought his points per game average up to 9.1, while collecting 4.9 boards, according to ESPN.

Here are some immediate reactions from Twitter, and most people are pretty befuddled as to why Shumpert is receiving such a large contract.

As the Inquisitr previously noted, the Cavs also re-signed forward Kevin Love earlier today for five years and $110 million.

Do you agree that Shumpert is grossly overpaid, or are you of the belief that in America, you can demand whatever salary you desire, because after all, nobody forced Cleveland to re-sign him?
