Celtics Danny Ainge hospitalized after heart attack

Boston Celtics President and General Manager Danny Ainge has been hospitalized after suffering a heart attack.

According to a statement released by the team, Ainge is resting comfortably and is expected to remain at Massachusetts General Hospital for several days, and will probably miss the start of the Celtics’ first-round playoff series against the Chicago Bulls.

The heart attacked followed news earlier the same day that the team would be without star player Kevin Garnett for the playoffs.

Ainge is a former professional basketball and baseball player who played in the NBA for the Celtics, Sacramento Kings, Portland Trail Blazers, and Phoenix Suns, and also in Major League Baseball for the Toronto Blue Jays.
