Marcus Grodd, Lacy Faddoul Secretly Got Married, Taped It For ‘Bachelor In Paradise’

Bachelor in Paradise alums Marcus Grodd and Lacy Faddoul got married — over a year ago! — and taped their wedding for an upcoming season of the show, Us Weekly is reporting.

Of course, anyone who follows either Marcus’ or Lacy’s Instagram accounts would have known about the secret wedding — if they were quick, that is. Last Thursday, Marcus posted a photo on Instagram with an adorable caption.

“Happy 1 year anniversary honey buns! Crazy to think I had a ring in my pocket this time last year without her having a clue. Whatcha getting ready for?”

Unfortunately, Marcus’ post appears to have been taken down — perhaps ABC wanted to squash any Bachelor in Paradise spoilers from coming out??

An unnamed source told Us Weekly that Marcus and Faddoul’s wedding was taped for the show.

The happy couple have always intended to make Bachelor in Paradise a part of their wedding, according to the Daily Mail, which is only fitting since the couple met on the show and later got engaged.

In a 2014 interview, Faddoul told Us Weekly that the couple intended to plan their wedding with The Bachelor franchise in mind.

“We actually really want to customize our wedding to contribute to the Bachelor Nation. And, so, we’re planning in the process and we actually are designing a perfume line. My perfume is actually what I’ll be wearing on my wedding day so I’m really excited about that… Clare Crawley, Michelle Money, there are several Bachelor people who will definitely make the list as well as our bridal party.”

Unlike a lot of grooms, Marcus actually had a small part to play in the wedding planning, saying that he “[does] the magazines, and try to get the Internet searches going,” to which Lacy added, “He’s good with Pinterest, actually!”

Bachelor in Paradise was designed to give also-ran contestants on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette a second chance at finding love. Sports medicine manager Marcus Grodd, who failed to win the hand of Andi Dorfman on Season 10 of The Bachelorette, met and fell in love with real-estate agent Lacy Faddoul, who missed out on the final rose from Juan Pablo Galvais in Season 18 of The Bachelor.

The second season of Bachelor in Paradise begins August 2; as of this post, it is not clear if Marcus Grodd and Lacy Faddoul’s secret wedding will be shown in the premiere or in a later episode.
