‘Game Of Thrones’ Star Emilia Clarke Went Drinking With Kit Harington Following Finale [SPOILERS]

Emilia Clarke plays the calm, cool, and collected Khaleesi on HBO’s hit show Game of Thrones. But even she had a hard time reacting to the death of one of her favorite cast mates on the show.

[Warning: Potential Spoilers Ahead]

Clarke revealed to Variety her reaction when she read the final script that revealed the fate of Kit Harington’s character.

“I cried and I called David and Dan and I took Kit out for numerous drinks and was like ‘what the — you’re leaving me? You’re abandoning us?’ “

Emilia was quick to point out, however, that Jon Snow’s death may give her character, Dany, the advantage in the race to take the Iron Throne. “If it means I’m that much closer to getting to the throne, then hey, okay,” she quipped.

Game of Thrones is the massively successful HBO show based on the George R.R. Martin books that follow the interconnected lives of seven kingdoms’ worth of characters. Like Clarke’s Khaleesi, the characters’ ultimate goal is to claim the aforementioned Iron Throne and rule the land.

During the Season 5 finale of Game of Thrones, Kit Harington’s beloved character, Jon Snow, was seemingly killed in the final dramatic scene, betrayed by the Night’s Watch, whom he was recently named leader of. His death, however, is widely speculated to be reversible, something Emilia has pointed out herself.

As reported by Inquisitr, Clarke feels there’s a 50/50 shot Kit Harington’s Jon Snow may return at some point. In a recent interview with MTV, Emilia hints that there are several ways in which Jon Snow could return.

“If I have to bet, I’d say it’s a 50/50 chance — there’s some helpful people there who could bring him on back to life,” Clarke said, hinting that the cunning and dangerous Melisandre made her way to Castle Black just moments before the final, fatal scene. Melisandre has proven time and again that she’s capable of some incredible magical feats, which have included resurrection, in the past.

Whether or not it’s in the cards, however, remains to be seen. The show’s creators, DB Weiss and David Benioff, have gone on record as saying the Jon Snow is indeed dead and Kit Harington will not be back next season. However, there are countless conspiracy theories suggesting (hoping?) that they are merely trying to dissuade the viewers from digging any further in as to keep the element of surprise intact.

Count Game of Thrones’ own Emilia Clarke as one of those theorists.
