WWE News: Big Backstage Heat On WWE NXT Champion Kevin Owens, Jealousy Causing Tension In NXT?

We know by now that WWE NXT Champion Kevin Owens has been doing amazing work since arriving in the WWE late last year. He made his main roster debut within months of appearing for the first time on WWE NXT. He made his shocking appearance on WWE RAW and took out John Cena on his first night. He then beat the current WWE United States Champion at Elimination Chamber.

The not-so-shocking part when it comes to Kevin Owens is that people are going to be jealous of his rise to the top. Sure, he has been doing quite well, and fans love him. Sadly, that doesn’t mean people within WWE are not going to be upset. According to Daily Wrestling News, many within NXT are upset that Owens has been brought up so quickly when many of them have been in developmental for a lot longer.

The big deal is, Owens has a new main roster contract that pays more money. So, those who have been with developmental for longer without raises, and feel they deserve it just as much, are certainly not happy when they aren’t seeing the movement they want. One of the many vocal about this issue is NXT star Tyler Breeze. While Breeze is still very young, at 27-years-old, he has been with developmental for 5 years. This dates him back to the FCW area.

Breeze does have a point in feeling he deserves the main roster move as much or more than others. Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, The Wyatt Family, Adrian Neville, Kevin Owens, Adam Rose, Big E., Xavier Woods, Kalisto, The New Sin Cara, The Ascension, Paige, and (technically) Ryback all came in around the same time or after Breeze, and all were called up before him.

Clearly, he has a bit of a chip on his shoulder. Many believe Breeze has been ready for a long time, but WWE has not brought him up yet. There has been opportunities to do so, but WWE hasn’t decided on the move. There is no telling how long he will be there.

It is not shocking Breeze and others are upset, this has been a pattern for some time now. Overall, morale has been very good, however. Ever since Bill DeMott was removed from his position with WWE, things have gone well. Complaints are still present for Kevin Owens, but WWE knows it is not Owens who is doing anything wrong. Talent does not blame Owens for taking what WWE has offered to him. Who would? They are upset it is not them, which is where the beef is coming mainly from. WWE is not expected to do much about it, as they cannot help jealousy.

Triple H and Vince McMahon are said to be very high on Kevin Owens, but Triple H is his biggest supporter, it seems. This is not surprising, as Triple H is close to many of the NXT stars that WWE has brought up to the main roster. He once said that he sees the NXT talent as his kids in some ways, so he is like a proud dad when they are brought up and do well.

Vince is said to be high on many NXT stars, but expressed his biggest interest in Finn Balor. Before recent injuries to Hideo Itami and Sami Zayn, Balor was set to be called up near the end of the summer. With both down, and Kevin Owens on the main roster, Balor is set to stay in NXT for a bit longer. In the meantime, the main roster has enough new stars for the men. WWE is set to push Owens a lot in the coming months. To what extent is not yet known, but a title of some kind is not out of the question.
