Radiohead: Reassuringly Weird At Coachella

Thank whatever you believe in for Youtube. Radiohead’s Saturday performance at weekend 1 of the Coachella Valley Music and Art festival has been uploaded – and it’s great. Complemented by a backdrop of oscillating images and pulsating colors, the quietly spoken ones messed with time signatures, diatonic scales, Neil Young, and the natural order of things, for just under two hours.

Mixing familiar songs like Paranoid Android with newies from the 2011 album The King of Limbs, the band mesmerized the festival crowd who sang along delightedly. Already the web is flooding with debates about the debut of Thom Yorke’s ponytail; the wise will just watch and listen to the music.
