Britt Nilsson ‘Top Contender’ For ‘Bachelorette’ 2016 After Split With Brady Toops

Britt Nilsson may get to be the Bachelorette after all. Although she lost this season’s gig to Kaitlyn Bristowe, Britt is reportedly a top contender for the role now that her relationship with Brady Toops is rumored to be over.

On the second night of the Season 11 premiere, Britt didn’t get enough votes to stay on as the Bachelorette, but she did start dating contestant Brady Toops after her elimination. Updates about her relationship with Brady have been shown throughout Kaitlyn’s season, but it’s likely that fans will see host Chris Harrison talk to Britt about her short-lived love story on an upcoming episode.

According to a previous report from the Inquisitr, Britt and Brady ended their relationship around the time the season premiere aired in May. The couple has not issued a statement about the split, but they may be under contract with ABC to keep things quiet until the network is ready to share the news — perhaps on the Men Tell All or After the Final Rose special.

Because of the rumored split, Reality TV World states that Britt now has an excellent chance to become the Season 12 Bachelorette.

“The only silver lining of a potential split is the fact Nilsson may have a shot at starring on The Bachelorette next season. According to the source, Nilsson is a leading contender for the role in producers’ eyes, especially after what she recently went through.”

In its July 6 issue, a source told Life & Style that ABC would “jump at the chance” to have Britt as the solo Bachelorette in 2016. While Chris Harrison never revealed how many of the 25 men voted to keep Nilsson on the show, several guys — including Jonathan, Tony, Josh, Kupah, and Brady — made it clear that they came on the show for Britt. Chances are producers would not have a hard time recruiting guys if she snags the starring role.

According to Reality Steve, Britt will not appear on the upcoming season of Bachelor in Paradise, more reason to believe that she has an eye on the more lucrative role as the Bachelorette. However, it will be awhile before viewers find out if she lands the gig — the next big announcement for the franchise is the name of the next Bachelor, rumored to be Ben Higgins or Josh Murray. Producers may be favoring Britt right now, but once they cast 25 ladies for the Bachelor Season 20, there may be a few other ladies considered for the role.

Do you think Britt Nilsson would make a good Bachelorette, or is it time for someone new?
