Rose McGowan Dishes Split From Marilyn Manson: ‘Best And Worst Thing? The Bomb Threats Sucked’ [Video]

Rose McGowan, indie star and headliner on the now-defunct Charmed, dished with Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen about her split from Marilyn Manson — and the best and worst of their relationship. Even though McGowan has been estranged from Manson since 2001, the romance is still a curiosity to Rose’s fans.

After 14 years, McGowan finally opened up about the painful breakup, saying it came down to lifestyle differences. As previously reported by the Inqusitr, McGowan dated the Pale Emperor rocker for three and a half years. At one point, Rose was even engaged to him, but the romance fizzled and the pair split when McGowan couldn’t take Manson’s cocaine use anymore.

When asked directly about why she split from Manson, Rose replied, “”Scarface,” referencing the 1983 movies about cocaine, reports Us Weekly. “Think about it Andy… What was Scarface about?”

“Coke,” Cohen surmised, “[Manson] did too much blow and you were not down for it.”

“It was me, it was me,” McGowan explained about her split from Manson. “Actually, I don’t know. I plead the Fourth… I’m honest, always, I can’t help it.”

In a previous interview about the relationship and what lead to the split, according to Us Weekly, Rose told reporters, “There is great love, but our lifestyle difference is, unfortunately, even greater.”

On the show, callers could ask McGowan about the relationship, and when queried about the best and worst parts, Rose replied, “Best and worst thing? Probably, the bomb threats sucked… that just gets boring after awhile. I’m like, ‘Really? Again?’ The best? Fun! People are like, ‘uhhh.’ And I’m like, ‘Shut up, it’s a rock star, you idiots!'”

McGowan also spoke out about her recent split from her agency, Innovative, after she sent several tweets that expressed outrage about sexism in Hollywood auditions. The tweets spread like wildfire through social media as thousands took arms to defend Rose.

McGowan tweeted about how the script of Adam Sandler’s new movie contained sexist casting notes — and was fired from her agency for speaking out against Adam Sandler and sexism in Hollywood.

Rose McGowan tweeted a patronizing note attached to the script which encouraged women use push-up bras, form-fitting leggings, and form-fitting tanks that show off cleavage for the part. Her agency chose to split from the actress.

“I got a script,” Rose explained on Watch What Happens Live, reports the Examiner, “and it said, ‘Please read the script so you understand the context of the theme.’ And then, it encouraged cleavage, in parentheses, ‘Push-up bras encouraged.’ It’s just institutionalized stupidity,” she told the show’s host after she dished about her split from Manson.
