Kate Middleton Too Thin? The Skinny On Her Baby Weight Success, But Is It Too Extreme?

While Kate Middleton has long been considered one of the most beautiful royals to grace Buckingham Palace, she has a new standard that has many in awe and some slightly concerned — her drastic postpartum weight loss following the birth of baby Charlotte last month. While the Duchess has always been lithe and fitness-minded, she is perhaps leaner now than ever before. Insiders say that’s because she exercised faithfully with yoga and the use of the palace pool during pregnancy, and since she gave birth, she has been on a strict regimen to get herself back in shape, a dietitian told Star.

“Kate worked out while she was pregnant, and now does yoga twice a week, and goes swimming almost daily at a new pool at Anmer Hall on the grounds of the Sandringham Estate, where the family now lives.”

As any mother of young children knows, chasing a toddler while caring for a newborn is a taxing but rewarding experience. Middleton has always been very active in the care of her children, preferring to care for her own baby in the middle of the night instead of relying on a nanny. She’s likely pressed for time, so her ability to find time to exercise is quite impressive. In the photo below, it’s obvious she has returned to pre-baby weight, if not even thinner.

But not everyone is thrilled about her super-lean body. Kate Middleton’s obsession with dieting and her weight has been under fire on more than one occasion since she married Prince William. Unfortunately, it has been rumored that during both pregnancies and post partum periods, Kate has been bordering on anorexic, a situation that reportedly caused Queen Elizabeth to take notice and share her disapproval of Kate’s dieting and exercise habits.

Kate Middleton has become a fashion icon around the world — people frequently look to her for fashion and beauty expertise, so it’s only natural that she would want to look her very best. It’s also true that perhaps Kate Middleton is naturally very thin. However, there is a fine line between eating healthy and dieting excessively, which can rob a postpartum of vital nutrients in order to heal correctly after childbirth and to have enough calories to breastfeed her baby.

Sources close to her are concerned because her “borderline eating disorder” that she has been rumored to have for some time is more likely to flare up during the postpartum period, psychologists say, because a woman is feeling particularly unhappy about her body shape and weight.

What do you think? Is the duchess too thin?
