‘The Flash’ Season 2 Premiere, New Characters Are Coming, Plus Will Barry Get A New Love Interest?

With Season 1 of The Flash ending with the ultra-fast superhero trying to save Central City from a devastating black hole, many fans have been eagerly waiting to find out what’s in store for Season 2 of the hit series. If the title of the first episode of Season 2 is anything to go by, then at least fans can rest knowing that Central City didn’t get wiped off the map.

While the first episode, ‘The Man Who Saved Central City,’ indicates that the city was saved from certain destruction via the black hole, it doesn’t necessarily mean Flash is the one who saved it. Was there another superhero running around that go the job done? Only time will tell.

Meanwhile, producers have been great about leaking other details concerning the new season. Aside from the drama in saving Central City, the second season will feature two new characters, according to Christian Today. Although details on who the new characters are and which actors will portray them have yet to be revealed, it is known that they will play a major part in the upcoming season. In fact, one of them will have a recurring role throughout the new season.

Elsewhere, with Eddie meeting his end in Season 1 of The Flash after sacrificing himself for a friend, it has been confirmed through Entertainment Weekly that Rick Cosnett will not be included when the show returns for Season 2.

As far as Detective Joe West is concerned, he will be set to gain a new partner this coming season. According to ComicBook.com, West’s new partner will be Patty Spivot. In the comic version of the story, Patty is employed by the Central City Police Department and works as a blood spatter analyst. Further, Patty is also in a relationship with Barry.

At the same time, little is known about how the relationship between Flash and Spivot will develop over the course of the new season. However, Cinema Blend is reporting that Barry will encounter a new love interest, Wendy, which should make things interesting.

Additional details concerning Wendy and her storyline have not been revealed. However, TV Line has stated that her character is fun and energetic, so it seems she will have no problem at all fitting in with the rest of the characters on the show.

The second season of The Flash is expected to return sometime in October on the CW.
