Watch Germany Vs. France Live Online: FIFA 2015 Women’s World Cup Quarterfinal Pits World #1 Vs. #3

Women’s soccer fans will want to watch live online for a matchup pitting Germany against France — the world’s Number 1 and Number 3 ranked teams — in the first quarterfinal match of the 2015 Women’s World Cup on Friday.

The Germany vs. France match will be followed later on Friday by the Team USA vs. China match, the second quarterfinal, with the winners of those two games meeting in the first semifinal on Tuesday. With the USA ranked Number 2, the pairings mean that only one of the world’s top three teams can make the World Cup Final.

To find out how to watch the Germany vs. France 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup quarterfinal live online, see the information in the final paragraph of this article. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. Eastern Time, 1 p.m. Pacific, at Olympic Stadium in Montreal, Canada.

Despite their higher ranking and being marked as the favorites not only in Friday’s game but to win the whole tournament, Germany Coach Sylvia Neid isn’t playing that game.

“Who says Germany are better than France?” she said at a news conference Thursday. “I did not say that, it will on depend how the team is on the given day whether we are better than France.”

Neid said that the France women will take a distinct advantage into Montreal, where much of the French-speaking population will be firmly in France’s corner — and the roof on creaky old Olympic Stadium cannot be opened. France has already played one match under the indoor conditions.

“I’m surprised a roof like this can’t be opened in the summer. It will be different for us,” Neid said. “We also know the French fans will be there in force, they will be singing, they will be very loud, we cannot be distracted by that. We just have to play our game hoping we manage to score an early goal.”

Germany will also hope to win this year’s World Cup to honor veteran goalkeeper Nadine Angerer (pictured above), who already has two — as well as four European Chamoionships — in an international career than spans 138 matches over 20 years.

Angerer, 36, has announced that this World Cup will be her final international competition, and she will retire from all professional women’s soccer after finishing out the season with the Portland Thorns of the National Women’s Soccer League in September.

Will the world’s top-ranked team advance to the semifinals, or will the third-ranked side pull off the upset and go on to face the USA or China on Tuesday?
