‘Batman: Arkham Knight’ — Console Updates On Hold Till PC Version Fixed

Rocksteady is finally doing what PC fans of Batman: Arkham Knight wanted them to do all along – working on the PC version of their game. As retailers pull the recent Warner Bros game from shelves, both physically and digitally, Rocksteady has stated that they are working with Iron Galaxy Studios, the company responsible for the poor PC port, to fix the issues with Batman: Arkham Knight.

However, because Rocksteady is focusing on fixing the PC version, console updates to Batman: Arkham Knight are on hold till the computer copy of the game are working as they should have on Tuesday when Arkham Knight released. This was confirmed via Twitter by the studio’s boss, Sefton Hill.

The decision to pull the game from shelves wasn’t an easy one for Warner Bros, and many claim (rightly so) they should never have released Arkham Knight in this state to begin with. Eurogamer inquired at a local game store whether they could still buy the game, knowing full well the bugs and issues involved, and were met with denial, stating that Warner Bros has ordered the game retailer to not sell any more copies of Batman: Arkham Knight on PC.

Nvidia, whose bevy of Gameworks features were supposed to bring Batman: Arkham Knight on PC to the next level of graphical fidelity, is helping to fix the PC version as well, as reported by GameSpot. Many felt that Nvidia led the gaming public astray as well, as Reddit has been increasingly dissecting the Gameworks video promoting Batman, claiming the video was sped up to show the game running at “60 FPS.” Many users are pointing to the voices sounding “squeaky,” almost “chipmunk-esque” in the video.

The final copy of Batman: Arkham Knight was released with a 30 FPS lock.

No timetable has been set for when fans can expect to see Batman: Arkham Knight back on store shelves for PC fans, but one thing is certain — Batman is an example of a version of the game that clearly was not given the same care as the others. Some decry this as Sony paying for the marketing budget, but it should be pointed out that Sony’s money didn’t hinder the Xbox One version of Arkham Knight.

For Rocksteady and Warner Bros, hopefully they can get Batman: Arkham Knight to where it should have been when it released initially, as well as do something to thank the fans who had to put up with yet another broken PC game from the publisher.
