Mike Wieners: Missouri Man Kills Second Home Intruder In Four Months

Mike Wieners of Franklin County, Missouri, had already dealt with a home intruder earlier this year, and he wound up killing the man in self-defense. Earlier this week, Wieners had to defend himself yet again from another home intruder, and he wound up killing that person, too.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Mike Wieners and Eric Frazer were neighbors and considered to be best friends. Wieners stated Frazer broke into his Franklin County, Missouri, home around 2 a.m. with an ax in hand and began to tear the place apart. He then demanded money and that Wieners drive him to Arkansas.

KMOV reports that Frazer lost his license after failing to pay child support, and he was going to take out his anger on the first person he saw, which happened to be Wieners. Wieners noted the man then threatened to kill him and began chasing him with the ax in his hands.

“He says ‘I think I’m going to chop your feet off,’ and I’m like ‘what?’ So he whacks and it hits the table and busts the table up. He barely missed my feet.”

Mike Wieners had agreed to take Frazer to Arkansas and told him he had to grab something first. Wieners proceeded to grab a knife and stabbed him multiple times in self-defense.

“I struck him and he ran out the door and jumped in my truck and drove off.”

Police later found Wieners’ vehicle on the side of the road, and Frazer was unresponsive. He was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Mike Wieners noted that he was protecting himself from danger and had no intention to kill Frazer.

“I wasn’t looking for that. I am not that type of person. But I am not going to let somebody take my life.”

In February of this year, Wieners had to defend himself from another home intruder he knew. The St. Louis-Dispatch reports that Richard Wagnon broke into Mike Wieners’ home and the two got into a dispute over a woman they both knew. Wagnon had brought a gun with him and threatened to shoot Wieners. That’s when Wieners was able to pry the gun away from Wagnon.

“I grabbed ahold of the barrel and it went off and killed him.”

No charges were brought to Mike Wieners for the February incident. Franklin County Sheriff Gary Toelke said police are currently looking into whether this latest incident is self-defense.

“Right now, he’s claiming self-defense, and what he has looks like self-defense, but we’re going to look into it a little more, obviously.”
