Rose McGowan Split From Marilyn Manson Over Cocaine?

Rose McGowan has been in the news as of late, from being fired by her agency over her Adam Sandler tweets to promoting her new film. McGowan latest stop was on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live!, and as usual when someone goes on the show, there’s usually a lot to dish.

One of those juicy stories was her relationship with rocker Marilyn Manson. The couple dated for three and a half years, and she was even engaged to him. So why did they break up? Well, according to McGowan, it was over cocaine use. Rose wasn’t exactly forthcoming as she didn’t say it outright, but when asked what caused their relationship to end, she simply replied, “Scarface.” The movie Scarface, of course, had hard drug use.

“Think about it Andy,” she said, “What was Scarface about?”

Andy answered “Coke” and continued, “He did too much blow and you were not down for it.”

McGowan didn’t specifically say that was the answer, but it was heavily implied.

“It was me, it was for me. Actually, I don’t know. I plead the Fourth [instead of Fifth]… I’m honest, always, I can’t help it.”

When the couple split in 2001, McGowan said, “There is great love, but our lifestyle difference is, unfortunately, even greater.”

Although both have moved on to other people, their relationship is still among one of the hot topics in Rose’s life that people are still interested in. A caller turned to her relationship with Manson to question the best and worst thing about dating the rocker.

McGowan said, “Probably, the bomb threats sucked… that just gets boring after awhile. I’m like, ‘Really? Again?’ The best? Fun! People are like, ‘uhhh.’ And I’m like, ‘Shut up, it’s a rock star, you idiots!'”

As stated, this has been one heck of a week for Rose McGowan. News broke that she was dropped by her agency after revealing a sexist casting description from a new Adam Sandler movie on Twitter, and that the move was done by her agent Sheila Wenzel. Following her alleged removal, it was said that her agent left her agency. That said, McGowan has stated that her agent had nothing to do with the decision over her removal.

Rose described Wenzel, who had actually left the agency months before the Adam Sandler tweet, as “a wonderful agent.”

Rose is currently promoting her new film Dawn.
